3 Efficient and Stylish Integrated Designs for Entrance and Dining Areas
We often mistakenly assume that we spend the most time in the bedroom, when in fact, the dining and living area is the most frequently used space. The dining and living area is not just a TV zone or dining zone, but consists of five functional areas: dining area, workspace, lounge area, storage area, and some dining areas even have a reading corner. With multiple functions, furniture, and limited space, the entire area can easily become cluttered and messy if not carefully organized. So when it comes to the layout of the entrance and dining area, especially in small apartments or those without a separate foyer, how should we arrange it? In situations where functionality is limited by space, an integrated design approach is the best choice. The following three combination designs offer practicality, sophistication, and efficient storage.
1. Entrance Cabinet + Buffet Cabinet
If the entrance can only accommodate a small foyer, and the corner of the entrance leads directly to the dining area, you can create an L-shaped integrated cabinet that combines the entrance and buffet functions. The corner can be used as a display area, with rounded edges to avoid bumps and injuries. This protruding wall instantly serves as an entrance, buffet, and display area.
If there is no corner available, a linear entrance cabinet and buffet cabinet can be placed against the wall.
Another option is to combine an entrance cabinet, seating area, and buffet cabinet.
2. Entrance Cabinet + TV Cabinet
If there is a protruding wall between the entrance and the TV, you can create an L-shaped integrated cabinet that combines the entrance and TV functions around the wall. A countertop can be added at the connection point for placing everyday items. The two cabinets can have matching colors and shapes, creating a visually appealing and hassle-free design in terms of color coordination.
If there is no wall between the entrance and the TV area and the space is long and narrow, you can still opt for a linear entrance cabinet and TV cabinet combination, which offers strong storage capabilities and fulfills the storage needs of the entire family.
3. Entrance Cabinet + Buffet Cabinet + TV Cabinet
Customized cabinets can be installed from the entrance all the way to the dining and living area, utilizing an entire wall for storage and meeting the storage needs of the entrance, dining, and living areas in one go.
The approach of having a continuous cabinet throughout the space is not uncommon in modern homes, giving the overall space a cleaner and more organized look.
